Yeezy Season..A look at fresh make-up.

Hey Guys!

As you all have probably heard, #kanyewest Launched his Yeezy Season 3 clothing line and new album #thelifeofpablo on the same day..at madison square garden. Major.

I adore his clothing but today i thought it would be nice to have a look at the make-up and hair (or lack there of) at his past three shows.

The make-up is extremely minimal, to the untrained eye i’m sure a lot of people assume there is zero make-up, and THAT is exactly why its so perfect. No doubt there is make-up but it is the type of no make-up look that suits the clothing perfectly.

The make-up is glowing, neutral, fresh and effortless the hair is either out and very natural or in some shows concealed completely. Its the ultimate “i woke up like this” look.

If you want to achieve this look, here are a few tips..

  1. Don’t use a full coverage foundation (if any) and leave imperfections such as freckles and beauty marks.
  2. Use a rich moisturiser before make-up application.
  3. Only use neutral matte shades on the face, no bright coloured brushes
  4. Opt for a light oil dabbed on the cheeks instead of a highlighter with pigment, the shimmer is an obvious make-up whereas oil will give you a natural glow.

Perfect Cheeks..To Contour? Or not to Contour?

Hey Guys!

Wake up looking awesome! (Well better at the very least).

Hey guys!

So I know we all want to wake up like Beyoncé (flawless) but some people (a.k.a me) wake up looking like there has been a small tornado in their room, this is not helpful when I need to get ready quickly or want to look pretty waking up at a friends house etc.

So I decided to give some actual thought into if there was anything I could do to change the outcome of “tornado” mornings here is what I did and I found it made a massive difference 🙂

– Ensure all makeup is removed from face so skin can breathe, you may think you will look better keeping makeup on at a significant others place but the reality is dry skin and panda eyes! Not to mention the break outs from clogging your pores for the whole night :/

– Brush hair, spray dry shampoo in the roots and put an oil such as Moroccan oil through your ends then put your hair in pigtail plaits, by doing this your roots will stay fresh you ends moisturised and hair knot free (not to mention the effortless wave you get when you take the plaits out 😉 )

-Sleep on your back??? Yes this is a strange one but apparently sleeping on your back prevents sleep lines, puffiness and pimples caused by keeping your face pressed against a pillow all night.

– Just before you go to sleep put a thick layer of Lanolips 101 ointment on your lips, this will act as a lip treatment so you don’t wake up with chapped dry lips.

– Groom eyebrows the night before, if your eye brows are in great shape they can add a lot of definition to the eyes without having to wear makeup

– Brush and floss teeth really well (don’t forget to scrape your tongue!) and follow up with whitening treatment or if you wear plates make sure you wear them to ensure your teeth are nice and straight, keep water by your bedside and sip through the night to avoid bad breath

– Avoid nicotine, alcohol and caffeine four hours before bedtime..well preferably avoid these things all the time but I’m trying to be realistic here.

– Last but certainly not least get an early night! Beauty sleep Is REAL..lack of sleep can cause skin to sag and lose it’s lustre as well as blood vessels dilating which causes dark circles, so get eight hours sleep if you can!

Foundation Series – Part 1, Know Your Canvas.

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to my foundation series! I have decided to delve into the world of foundation for all the lovely people i know that find it hard to find a perfect foundation (myself included before i trained). My mission is to simplify it!

This series is going to be broken down in episodes, as well as written blogs so you can print out the info the applies to you! Episode – 1 is “Know your canvas” i show you an easy test to determine skin type. 

Here is the written guide to skin types that i specify in this video –

Normal Skin – Shows no signs of flaking, neither big nor small pores, doesn’t have excess oil or breakouts.

Dry Skin – Small pores, tight feeling, flaking skin.

Oily Skin – Large pores, shiny, excess oil, prone to breakouts.

Combination Skin – Shows signs of all three, can be oily in t-zone and dry around the rest of the face, prone to breakouts as well as dryness.

Once you have determined your skin type i am going to do specialised videos for the different skin types, including recommendations of foundations for these skin types, this is Episode – 2 “Pick your foundation”.

Episode – 3 will be “Pick your shade” i will be guiding you through the complicated world of foundation shades and colours.

Episode – 4 will be Perfect application, i will be showing you various ways to apply foundation and how to set it so it stays!
